Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Jessie Kabwila, Visits Exploits University

The Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Jessie Kabwila, visited Exploits University as part of her ongoing efforts to assess and enhance the quality of higher education institutions in Malawi. During her visit, she addressed several key issues concerning student education, welfare, and institutional development.

Dr. Kabwila emphasized the importance of ensuring that students receive quality education in a conducive learning environment. She inspected the university’s facilities to ensure they are in good condition and meet the required standards for higher learning. She also interacted with students, encouraging them to take an active role in the Malawi Vision 2063 agenda and understand how they can contribute to the country’s long-term development goals.

Dr. Kabwila announced her plan to visit higher education institutions to evaluate how education is being administered. Her assessment will include attending classroom sessions, interacting with students and reviewing assignments and curriculums to determine how well-prepared students are before joining the workforce.

During her visit, she also requested staff records from the university administration as part of her evaluation of institutional effectiveness. Additionally, she promised enhanced collaboration between the government and both private and public universities to improve the overall higher education sector in Malawi.

The Minister highly commended Exploits University, applauding its significant contributions to the education sector. She praised the university’s leadership for their unwavering dedication to delivering quality education and recognized its vital role in shaping Malawi’s future by producing well-equipped graduates who drive national development.

Before arriving at Exploits University, Dr. Kabwila also visited other institutions, including Unilia, Deeyang, and Skyway universities, where she conducted similar assessments.

Her visit signals the government’s commitment to improving education standards in the country and fostering closer ties between institutions to ensure that students receive the best possible education and support for their future endeavors
