Advance teaching, research and services programs of the university by providing innovative service in making accessible scholarly resources, provide up-to-date and relevant information resources; promote the effective utilization of those resources; and facilitate rapid access to information held within and in remote places through conventional and electronic means to Exploits University community and other stakeholders.
Exploits University Library embraces a hybrid collection comprising print and electronic resources. The print collection includes monographs, reference sources (dictionaries, encyclopedias, maps, etc.) and a special collection that mainly consists of Malawian materials (information resources written by Malawians and about Malawi).
The print collection exceeded 4,000 volumes while the E-books collection exceeded 7,000 volumes. Much as part of the collection is acquired through purchase, the Library has relied on various partners in its collection building exercise. Whereas the partners are many, the biggest benefactors of the Library are National Library Service, Malawi National Aids Commission, and various government ministries and departments. The Library provides access to most of the electronic resources through subscription that are paid through MALICO. However, other valuable open access e-journal databases are freely provided through arrangements with various publishers
The E-Books Resources section in our library caters to digital book collections accessible to patrons. These resources offer a wide range of electronic books spanning various genres, subjects, and formats.
E-Books Resources feature a diverse array of electronic books, covering fiction, non-fiction, academic texts, reference materials, and more. These collections often encompass titles from traditional publishers as well as independent authors and self-published works.
Unlike physical books, e-books can be accessed remotely, anytime, and anywhere with an internet connection. Libraries usually provide access through dedicated platforms or integrated library systems (ILS), allowing patrons to borrow, read, and download e-books to their preferred devices, such as e-readers, tablets, smartphones, or computers.
